SDCTA supports Measure P because it is innovative: it creates a way to stop collecting the tax should the financial position of the city be better than anticipated without having to get a vote of the people. SDCTA’s assessment is that with an independent oversight committee, the El Cajon city council will have to heed any recommendations to stop the collection of the tax.
